Care Collars has helped with some of Sadie’s vet bills. She has come into the care of Westcoast Rottweiler Rescue with a difficult skin condition. If you would like to help Sadie so she gets well and can start looking for her forever home, please go to WCRR’s website. You can read some more of her story on the WCRR website:

Care Collars new blog!
What do I hope to achieve? Well, the original concept of making custom made collars, leashes and harnesses was well enough received to generate over $12,000 for animals that had come into rescue and had serious medical issues that needed to be cleared up before they could become adoptable. But 3 years of sewing straight lines 1″ apart had taken it’s toll and I was in need of a serious change! Hopefully this time around the support will be there too.
I have always been striving to be environmentally conscious and even worked for an engineering company that was environmentally driven, although on an industrial scale. They provided odour control systems and water conservation systems in pulp mills. The need for paper will never go away so at least it was satisfying to be part of a solution.
Another thing that will never go away is our dependance on using plastic bags. But the thought of putting something that is highly biodegradable into a bag that was not really didn’t make sense to me. Apparently it didn’t make sense to a lot of other people either. I contacted a company that designed biodegradable doggie bags as well as compost and kitchen bags. They have allowed me to buy the doggie bags at wholesale so I can resell them and donate the profits to the Care Collar Fund which will again help pay for medical bills for the animals in rescue. Seems there is an interest in kitchen and compost bags too so I’ll see if I can get them too. Hopefully in time I’ll be able to add other fun environmental items to the list.
This time, I hope my website skills will be better so I can add stories about the animals that have been helped and links to the rescue involved. Wish me luck!!
